Employment law experts from West Midlands law firm FBC Manby Bowdler LLP will provide the latest information on new and proposed employment legislation and regulations for businesses at three Employment Law Update sessions to be held in Telford, Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury on 14th, 20th and 21st March respectively.
With 2012 shaping up to be year when employers are facing legislation overload, with more changes to employment law than in many previous years, host Tracy Worthington, Partner and Head of FBC Manby Bowdler’s Employment Department, believes that attendance will pay great dividends.
She says: “Throughout the first few months of this year, the Government has put forward a raft of measures aimed at reforming employment law. We will be able to tell delegates what has been confirmed, when the changes come into effect, what else is likely to change and how it will affect their businesses. We will also update them on recent important cases and how these will alter employment practices.”
The 60 minute briefings will also help advise employers on how to deal with issues such as the unfair dismissal qualifying period increasing to two years only for new joiners, time off for the Olympics and Euro 2012 and on-going matters such as retiring older workers following the abolition of the default retirement age.
“The new and proposed regulations and changes brought about by case law are a potential minefield, which will affect all organisations, so this session is a must for all employers, HR personnel and anyone responsible for managing staff at all levels,” continues Mrs Worthington.
The sessions run from 8.30am to 9.30am at The Holiday Inn, Dunstall Park, Wolverhampton, at Lord Hill Hotel in Shrewsbury and at NFU Telford, Southwater Way, Telford, TF3 4FU. They are free to attend and include a light breakfast and refreshments. Participants can register by contacting FBC Manby Bowdler’s marketing team via email on [email protected]
