Property consultants Alder King have let the former First Choice retail unit in Bridgwater to Children’s Hospice South West. The charity, which was Alder King’s charity of the year in 2014, currently has 26 shops across the South West and a vision to expand to 50 by 2017.
The new Bridgwater shop is located on Fore Street, a busy pedestrianised retail thoroughfare which forms part of the prime town centre retail district. It is the charity’s third shop in Somerset, joining those already in operation in Wellington and Glastonbury.
The property provides 1,164 sq ft of accommodation including a ground floor sales area with rear loading and further accommodation on the first floor including offices, stores, a kitchen and WC facilities.
Children’s Hospice South West, which was represented by Cirrus Tenant Lease Services Ltd , has taken the unit at 3 Fore Street on a 6 year lease. Alder King advised the landlord Panther Securities plc.

Alder King is also currently marketing a former Spar convenience store at 7 Fore Street, Bridgwater, providing 1,327 sq ft of accommodation at an asking rent of £18,000 per annum exclusive.
