One of the West Midlands’ largest ever distribution units has been completed at IM Properties’ Birch Coppice Business Park, less than a year after the start of construction.
The 778,000 sq ft unit will act as the National Distribution Centre for automotive component supplier Euro Car Parts, who secured a 20 year pre-let on the building.
Designed specifically to meet the needs of the company’s automotive supply business, the unit will become a key hub in Euro Car Parts’ branch network, stocking more than 150,000 different product lines and dispatching over 200,000 items a day.
Kevin Ashfield, UK Development Director, IM Properties, said: “We are delighted that the unit has been completed exactly on time and the main contractors Winvic and the whole professional team has been fantastic. This is another significant milestone in what has been a fantastic year for Birch Coppice, with over 1.3 million sq ft of activity on the site in the last 12 months.”
Situated at Junction 10 of the M42 in Dordon, the award winning 400 acre Birch Coppice Business Park has been a significant success story, ensuring a supply of high quality industrial and distribution units and acting as a significant catalyst for employment in the region.
The region’s largest rail-served development site, it has attracted a range of high-quality occupiers, including Ocado, UPS, Euro Car Parts and Severn Trent.
