One of the largest Business Service providers in the East Midlands have significantly expanded their operations at Kingsway Industrial Park, Derby.
Irongate Group, who were originally established in 1977, have increased their footprint by around 50% by taking a new lease of a 15,500 sq.ft business unit – which neighbours their existing head office.
The expansion is the latest transformation of a Derby business which has grown exponentially from humble beginnings. Originally offering photocopying services from a small retail shop located on Derby’s Irongate, the business has expanded to provide a diverse range of business services including office supplies, workwear, managed communications and document management.
The business now turns over £17 million annually and Managing Director Adam Noble explained the need to increase their capacity:
“In order to meet the growing and varied needs of our clients, it is very important that we occupy premises that allow us to deliver services as effectively as possible.
We have seen through our existing head office at Kingsway that the location was perfect for our needs, we just needed more space. The expansion means we can increase the variety of services we offer, particularly work wear and PPE. However, just like the first days on Irongate we pride ourselves on an extensive print and promotion service”
The deal to increase Irongate Group’s presence at Kingsway Industrial Park was put together by Chris Keogh, Associate at Derby based Commercial Property experts Salloway Property Consultants.
Chris highlighted the key aspects of the transaction:
“Irongate Group now occupy over 45,000 sq.ft at Kingsway Industrial Park and that is testament to the strong locational benefits of the development, being both close to Derby City Centre and the extensive transport infrastructure accessible via the A38, which adjoins the Park.
We were able to negotiate a 5 year lease for our client at a strong annual rental comparative to other lettings on the Park. Landlords of industrial and distribution property continue to benefit from low availability and supply of product in the Derbyshire market place.”
Irongate Group completed the new lease in late 2015 and are now fully operational in their expanded facilities.
