CBRE, the world’s leading global real estate advisor, has announced the restructure of its leading central London and South East land development teams to create a new London Development team encompassing all commercial, residential and mixed use land and development activity across all 33 London Boroughs.
CBRE’s London Development team is today the largest and only mixed use development team covering all 33 London Boroughs. It has been launched to meet the escalation in demand for residential and commercial development advice arising from the capital’s many planned infrastructure enhancements and rapidly increasing population densities.
The 35-strong team includes experts in all residential and commercial uses who will focus on advising investors and developers and land owners on potential opportunities right across London. To be closer to the market, the team will operate from four dedicated offices with localised market leaders in the West End, Midtown, City and Canary Wharf.
According to CBRE data, development trading activity across London has increased sharply from an average level of £3.1bn over the last 9 years to circa £5.3bn in 2015. It is anticipated that with the diversification across the market, the transactions in the London market could be a greater still in 2016.
Peter Burns, Managing Director of CBRE London Development said: “Our decision to give the development team a truly cross-London focus is rooted in our understanding and knowledge of the range of fantastic opportunities that exist both within and beyond the core. Our structure will help our clients navigate the rapidly changing dynamics of the whole London market with its varied market dynamics, local authority priorities and differing impacts of new transport and infrastructure projects. We have brought together our combined in-depth experience and expertise across all use classes and geographies which the many specialists in our London Development team are geared up to deliver.”
The formation of CBRE’s new London Development team sees Adam Cradick, Andrew Purdon and Henry Chapman join the London Development team from the National business.
