Midlands-based construction firm, G F Tomlinson is helping to bring more jobs to the region thanks to a scheme at Burton Gateway Industrial Park.
G F Tomlinson is working on Burton Gateway’s first industrial unit at the 1 million square foot commercial park within a 64-acre site developed by St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist.
Once complete, it is set to be one of the biggest employment sites in East Staffordshire to include new offices and service yards and forms part of a larger investment within the area, which also includes 660 new homes.
Paul Fish, director at G F Tomlinson said: “We are well known for our experience in the commercial, industrial and retail sectors and are pleased to have secured repeat work from St. Modwen on its key developments within the Midlands.
“Work is progressing well on the Burton Gateway site and we are well on track for completion. Our team has undertaken significant groundworks on the site in order to establish gas, water and electricity services for the client. We’re delighted to be the first on this significant development, which will bring new jobs and homes to local people in the surrounding area.”
Mark Greasby, construction manager at St. Modwen, said: “It has been a pleasure to work with G F Tomlinson on BG87, the first unit at Burton Gateway, where we have planning permission to develop 1 million square foot of employment space. Burton Gateway will be attractive to businesses looking for well-connected space and is set to provide a significant jobs boost to the local area.”
The Burton Gateway development will be one of the largest in the region and could create up to 1,500 jobs in total.
