Commercial property agents Alder King and John Smale & Co have sold the former St John Ambulance Hall in Hart Street, Bideford.
The property has been purchased for an undisclosed sum by local advertising and design agency Bluesoup Communications following a recent change of use to allow occupation as offices.
St John Ambulance first offered the property to the market in March 2015 and, following a short marketing period which generated strong and competitive interest, agreed a sale to Bluesoup.
The purchase of the property will help secure a period of stability for the successful agency, says Lee Southan of Alder King.
“Established in 2007, Bluesoup relocated five times in its first six years of trading due to strong growth and a lack of suitable office space and has been looking for a more permanent solution for the past two years. We’re delighted that they have now found freehold premises that will give them room for future growth without having to move too far afield.”
Dom Rosenbaum, Chartered Surveyor at John Smale & Co comments: “We are delighted to have been involved with this property. The building represented a unique opportunity in the centre of Bideford and had potential for a variety of uses. The sale to Bluesoup is great news for the building and the town as a whole, retaining an important business in Torridge.”
Commenting on the recent purchase, Bluesoup managing director Ben Duhig said: “We’re delighted to be the new owners of the Hall and have some exciting plans for the building which will be adapted to provide modern office facilities for our 12 strong team.”
