The UK’s original premium burger restaurant, Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), has continued the expansion of its estate with a new acquisition in Worcester.
The new restaurant is expected to open in spring 2016 and is one of twelve planned GBK openings for next year, bringing the total number of GBK sites to 80 by 2017.
GBK Worcester will be located in the CrownGate Shopping Centre, which has welcomed a wave of new shops and restaurants to the city centre throughout 2015.
The 3,000 sq. ft. restaurant will sit alongside other restaurants including Carluccios and Bill’s both of which opened in 2014.
Having opened its first restaurant in Battersea, London in 2001, GBK’s UK portfolio is currently 69 strong. In the past month, GBK has opened sites in Chichester, Newport & Stoke. Early performance for all three new openings has been strong, encouraging GBK to continue to grow its team and look for more site opportunities.
Keith Bird, Chief Operating Officer at GBK says ‘We were thrilled to work alongside Queensberry Real Estate to acquire this space in the CrownGate Shopping Centre in Worcester. We will be joining a great line-up of restaurants and shops and we can’t wait to be part of the buzz in the centre, especially over the Easter holidays. GBK Worcester will be one of twelve restaurant openings in 2016, and we’re looking forward to it being another strong year of growth for us’.
The new restaurant in Worcester is expected to open in time for Easter 2016.
