Three new industrial units are being developed on Deeside Enterprise Zone with support from the Welsh Government to attract new investment and jobs to the area and accommodate expansion plans by companies in the region.
The new units will be built at Prospect Park on Deeside Industrial Park in a £3.15m investment by Total Developments (NW) Ltd. which is supported by a Welsh Government property development grant.
The units, which will be for sale or lease and provide a total space of 35,000 sq ft, with the capacity to accommodate up to 70 jobs. They range in size from 5,000 & 10,000 sq. ft. up to 20,000 sq. ft and are being marketed by sole agent for the scheme, Legat Owen.
The need for advance speculative industrial units was identified as a priority in Deeside Enterprise Zone Advisory Board’s strategic plans to assist the development of the Zone.
Economy Minister Edwina Hart said: “The availability of modern, ready to occupy accommodation can be key in attracting new investment to the area and is often a major consideration when companies are making investment decisions.
“It is equally important that industrial space is available for businesses looking to expand in the area so I am pleased to support this investment on Deeside Enterprise Zone with a property development grant.”
Edward Chantler, Director of Total Developments commented: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Welsh Government in the Deeside Enterprise Zone.
“We are currently on site constructing what promises to be an excellent quality BREEAM rated development that will enable job creation in the area. Given the lack of stock of industrial units, we are hopeful that this development will give small and medium sized companies the opportunity to occupy and invest in the Deeside Enterprise Zone.”
Stephen Wade, director of Legat Owen, concluded: “Prospect Park is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of both indigenous and inward investors in the advanced manufacturing / distribution sectors. The completed units will be available for sale or to let thereby enabling occupiers to invest for the long term.
“Prospect Park’s location within a Tier 2 Grant Assisted Area means that qualifying projects may be eligible for grant support, a factor that will be an added pull for businesses looking to relocate.”
