Full house has been called on a thriving office campus in Hampshire with the new UK headquarters of an expanding company.
In a deal through commercial property consultancy Hughes Ellard, recruitment specialist Sheridan Maine has signed a five-year lease on 2,018 sq ft at Burlington House, Botleigh Grange, Hedge End, near Southampton.
Fuelled by the improved economy, the tenancy by Sheridan Maine means that every office at the wider Botleigh Grange office campus is now occupied.
Russell Mogridge, the business space director for Hughes Ellard, said: “The arrival of Sheridan Maine at Burlington House means Botleigh is fully let and is indicative of the growth of companies on the back of the resurgent economy.
“We’re anticipating strong interest in two suites coming to the market early next year, one of 3,446 sq ft and the other 6,219 sq ft at nearby Vanbrugh House. There are few Grade A offices available across the Solent region and developers are unlikely to commit to speculative development until £25 per sq ft is achievable.”
Hughes Ellard acted for the private landlord of Burlington House, whose portfolio includes the fully-occupied 1000 Lakeside business park at North Harbour, Portsmouth.
Specialising in the search and placement of finance experts and accountants to companies of all size and industry, Sheridan Maine was previously based at Regus, a serviced office centre next to Southampton’s airport, for 10 years.
The firm, which has 16 staff on site and 36 overall, also has offices in Bristol, Bournemouth and Basingstoke.
David Heron, the managing director for Sheridan Maine, said: “Burlington House is our new UK headquarters, providing us with a superb working environment for staff, clients and candidates.
“It is also serves as the epicentre of our talent development specialist programme, where our staff identify the right people for the right job on behalf of clients.
“The relocation to larger premises is part of an organic expansion plan. It is one that will see Sheridan Maine, as a leading independent financial and accountancy recruitment consultancy, continue to grow placement support to small-to-medium enterprises and blue-chip companies.”
Positions which Sheridan Maine fill for clients include finance directors, reporting managers, financial analysts, project accountants and tax accountants.
David added: “We are grateful to Russell Mogridge at Hughes Ellard for facilitating a smooth transition from our previous office – everything went to the letter.”
Sheridan Maine is an autonomous operating subsidiary of Pertemps Network Group, the UK’s largest independent provider of specialist recruitment services and temporary employment solutions.
Other companies at Burlington House are law firm Clarke Willmott, healthcare and engineering recruitment firm Appoint and Five Arrows Business Finance.
The lease deal is the latest by 27-strong Hughes Ellard, which has offices in Southampton and Fareham.
Last month (November) the independent company topped a closely-watched office space league table for the third consecutive year.
Hughes Ellard recorded 44 deals, involving a total of 274,000 sq ft, along the M27 Corridor between Southampton and Portsmouth.
Estates Gazette, regarded as the UK’s bible for the commercial property sector, compiled the league table from transactions recorded between September 2014 to August 2015.
