Sizzling Tex-Mex dishes served in a buzzing restaurant will soon be on the menu at a brand new Chimichanga at intu Derby. Complete with punchy cocktails and refreshing beers served amongst vibrant Latin and Hispanic colours with music to match, it will add to the growing number of dining choices at the prime shopping centre.
Christian Poole, marketing director at Chimichanga, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming customers to our new restaurant at intu Derby. The location will be a great addition for us in the East Midlands and will extend our UK coverage. Tex-Mex food is becoming more popular than ever and we believe that guests of all ages will enjoy the food and drink on offer at Chimichanga.”
Earlier this year, Italian restaurant Zizzi, Byron Burger, YO! Sushi and Joe’s Kitchen signed up to intu Derby, adding to the existing dining cluster there, including TGI Friday’s and wagamama. The area complements the adjacent 12 screen Showcase Cinema de Lux on level four, above Nando’s and PizzaExpress.
In addition to enhancing the casual dining offer at the 1.3 million sq ft prime shopping centre, intu has applied for planning permission to add 40,000 sq ft of leisure facilities, with a decision expected in December. The enhanced catering and leisure offer will further improve the customer experience with a mix of grab-and-go, casual dining and entertainment to extend dwell times.
Martin Breeden, regional director of intu, said: “This closes off a great year of lettings at intu Derby and also a great year of trading where we are set to beat 25 million customer visits. The restaurant and leisure offer is key to encouraging customers to visit more often and stay for longer.”
