A national authority on compulsory purchase has been made managing director of a specialist property consultancy in Birmingham.
Jonathan Stott joined Hamer Associates in 2013 as director of compulsory purchase from London-based Ardent but has risen to become MD of the firm, which also has an office in Bristol.
Stott, who – at 32 – has recently been appointed to the Compulsory Purchase Association National Committee, regularly gives evidence at public inquiries and to Select Committees in Parliament on the subject of compulsory purchase and compensation, and is acting for a large number of landowners affected by both phases of HS2.
He said: “I am, naturally, extremely pleased to become managing director of Hamer Associates.
“We are a specialist company that focuses on complex property matters relating to compulsory purchase and utility easements and wayleaves. We act on behalf of a range of clients from national homebuilders to individual landowners, calling upon a range of expertise and experience within the team.
“This is a very exciting time to become managing director because we are growing, have several major projects in the pipeline and are growing at 30 per cent year on year.
“We are working right across the country – hence why we opened the new office in Bristol recently – and there is potential for further office openings in the medium term.”
