Julian Hodge Bank, the only bank with its headquarters in Wales, is to relocate to the new One Central Square development next to Cardiff Central Station in the middle of 2016. The bank will occupy the entire 6th floor comprising 16,500 sq. ft.
The bank’s Managing Director David Austin said “We have experienced significant growth in recent years, having doubled our staff complement since the height of the financial crisis. We now employ some 120 people and have assets of £1 billion and anticipate further expansion over the next few years.”
“In searching for new premises, we identified three key criteria which had to be met by our new home; it needed to be an aspirational place to work, have connectivity to the main transport hubs and provide the flexibility to cater for our future plans. We believe that One Central Square fulfils all these criteria.”
“Our people are the key to our success and we want them to be enthused by their working environment, enabling us to attract and retain the very best talent. We can then deliver on our ambition to be a major financial services presence based in Cardiff serving our customers throughout the U.K.”
Paul McCarthy, Chief Executive of Rightacres said “The bank’s decision to choose One Central Square as its new base underlines Central Square as Cardiff’s premier business location and endorses our strategy of developing high quality offices at the heart of Cardiff’s Financial & Professional Services Enterprise Zone.”
Rhys James, Senior Director of Cushman & Wakefield who acted for Julian Hodge said “Central Square stood as being the ideal location for the banks staff and customers and there is no doubt that this will prove to be the prime business location in the city centre for the next generation. The One Central Square building will provide the bank with accommodation of excellent quality, largely in an open plan format , and this will allow them to expand their business efficiently in the coming years“.
