The retail logistics giant, Seko Synergy, has committed its future to Northampton, agreeing a ten year lease renewal at its 126,000 sq ft facility at Northampton Distribution Centre, Crow Lane.
The company, an owner run business with 30 years experience in fulfilment, fashion logistics and 3PL services, currently employs some 150 staff at the site. Its clients include Tesco, Morrisons, Models Own, Arcadia, Sainsbury’s, Moda Operani and House of Fraser.
Managing Director of Seko Synergy Retail Support Limited, Gary Rees said: “Northamptonshire has always been at the heart of our business and the renewal of the lease underlines our commitment both to the region and to our staff. We have invested heavily in technology over recent years to include start-of-the-art picking with voice, RDT or light used by some of the world’s largest retailers; full integration with 50 couriers and real time tracking. The company has further invested in a 20,000 sq ft mezzanine floor and converted its pallet racking to narrow isle.”
Ian Harman, a Director of Prop-Search, which acted on behalf of Seko Synergy in negotiating the new lease, added: “The combination of excellent transport links, strong employment base and fit out of the unit made renewing the lease a viable option for Seko Synergy. Using our knowledge of the local market we were able to negotiate favourable terms for our client which will facilitate their continued and predicted growth in the region.”
Gary Rees concluded: “Ian has fantastic local knowledge and knows everything that’s going on; his approach was strategic and I would personally recommend him to anyone looking in this area.”
