Midlands-based construction firm G F Tomlinson has completed a new 40,000 square foot unit for Henry Boot Developments Limited at Markham Vale near Chesterfield.
The £1.95 million building is now home to Meter Provida, Britain’s leading multi utility metering specialist and comprises warehousing and two-storey office facilities. The new unit is on Plot 6A of the flagship 200-acre Henry Boot Development site just off junction 29a of the M1.
Meter Provida, the UK’s leading independent smart gas, water and electricity metering specialist for domestic and industrial installations, is moving to Markham Vale as part of its ongoing business expansion.
Tim Burn, project manager from Henry Boot Developments said the location of the new commercial and industrial park was key to its decision to invest in the area.
“This is the first unit that G F Tomlinson have undertaken on the site and the completed scheme will help to bring more jobs to the area and provide much-needed space for successful businesses like Meter Provida,” he said.
Commenting on the unit’s completion, Andy Sewards, director of GF Tomlinson said: “Markham Vale is a premier scheme at the heart of the UK motorway network and we’re delighted to play our part in its construction.
“We have years of experience in developing commercial units like these across the region and this flagship site is an ideal location for a rapidly expanding business like Meter Provida.”
To date more than £50 million worth of investment has been secured at the site with businesses attracted by its strategic central location close to major transport links.
