A Cardiff-based Wi-Fi experience monitoring specialist has been acquired by multinational telecommunications testing company, Spirent Communications plc, for an undisclosed sum.
Advised by Cardiff-based business advisory firm Greenaway Scott, Epitiro, which was founded in 2005 by Gavin Johns and Jon Curley, was sold to London Stock Exchange listed Spirent Communications to build on the success of a strategic partnership which has led to experience monitoring system deployments at multiple customers including a tier 1 US service provider.
Communications and network testing company, Spirent, which is headquarted in Crawley, has a service assurance suite of four product lines which enables providers to proactively identify problems, often before they impact the customer experience. Each product line uses a patented set of proactive test technologies to assure the quality of devices and services before launch and during live operation.
Epitiro’s web-based platform, which provides continuous visibility of the end-user experience by proactively performing tests that emulate realistic user activities, is now part of Spirent’s newly-formed Mobility product line with a focus on assuring the experience of Wi-Fi and LTE services in mobility locations.
