Deals covering 500,000 sq ft of commercial and £20 million of freehold sales helped commercial property consultancy Myddelton & Major to scoop a prestigious award for the fourth year running.
The Salisbury-based firm covering the Central Southern region has again won the title of Most Active Agency in Wiltshire.
Myddelton & Major’s coveted award comes from Estates Gazette, the weekly and online ‘bible’ of the UK commercial property industry.
The success was based on the number of retail, office and industrial deals completed across the county during the past year.
Myddelton & Major completed 164 deals covering almost 500,000 sq ft of commercial space in Wiltshire. Freehold sales totalled almost £20 million and the rent roll amounted to just under £2 million.
The long-established firm’s five-strong Agency Wiltshire commercial team is Philip Holford, Dean Speer, Simon Lee, Rachael Ward and Jody Williams.
Dean said: “This prestigious accolade from the leading national industry magazine is a brilliant tribute to the hard work across the year by our loyal and skilled staff in Salisbury.
“Their dedication to serving clients diligently is second-to-none and our results in 2015 show they consistently deliver the best possible service, whether it is in marketing, valuations, property management or specialist consultancy.
“That we have completed more transactions in the past 12 months than the previous successful year shows economic confidence in Wiltshire is increasing.
“It has been a privilege to be part of a passionate team helping to promote growth by facilitating commercial expansion and help bringing new businesses into the county. People turn to Myddelton & Major because of our reputation as a trusted advisor.”
Successful deals have included High Post Business Park, Salisbury, sales to Kong Company and Major Tom and a sale at Wincanton on behalf of Adams Foods.
There have also been developments successfully sold out at Commerce Park, Frome, land sales at Solstice Park, Amesbury and brownfield development sites such as 194 Castle Street, Salisbury.
Most of the transactions were in South Wiltshire, around Salisbury/Amesbury, but Myddelton & Major also acted on commercial properties in West Wiltshire, Warminster, Westbury, Frome, down into Dorset and Somerset and in West Hampshire.
The success comes as the Confederation for British Industry is forecasting GDP growth for 2016 to continue advancing strongly in 2016, at 2.6%.
