Leading North West law firm, Brabners Chaffe Street has advised the inventor of ecopod on an exclusive and significant agreement with Carillion Energy Services, which will see the roof based system rise to the forefront of the renewable energy sector.
The brainchild of Keith Rimmer, Managing Director of Belfry Group, the Warrington-based building and maintenance company, ecopod is an award winning revolutionary heating system which reduces carbon emissions and energy costs by using a combination of renewable technologies in a self contained system retro-fitted to existing and new buildings. Clients include local authorities, housing associations, trusts, commercial and industrial property owners, schools, etc to name but a few!
Carillion Energy Services, part of Carillion plc, is the largest independent energy services businesses in the UK. The collaboration agreement gives Carillion the exclusive right to market, sell and in conjunction with Belfry Group, install the ecopod. The newly formed company will trade under the name EcoPod Heating Systems Limited.
The deal sees Brian Kerr, Director and shareholder of Belfry Group retire from the business.
Brabners Chaffe Street Corporate Partner, Ruth Jones and Associate, Simon Lewis have advised Belfry Group on corporate strategy and business support since 2008, providing advice on a number of initiatives geared to achieving sustained growth and shareholder value.

Accountant John Beaumont of Beaumont Associates also advised Belfry Group on the license agreement. Carillion Energy Services were represented by their in-house legal team and Lucy Pringle, Mark Pearce and Andrew Hall from Dickinson Dees, Newcastle.
