Euro Car Parts (ECP), the UK’s number one distributor of car parts, has opened its 200th branch, located in Manchester, as it continues to fulfil its rapid expansion plans.
Manchester (Moss Lane) is one of ECP’s New Generation Hubs. Providing approximately 180 deliveries per day to Whitefield, Bury, Radcliffe, Swinton & Cheetham Hill, the hub will initially be occupied by 38 staff, increasing to 50 within one year. Totalling 60,000 sq ft (5,574 sq m) over three floors, the Manchester hub will take ECP’s total property portfolio to over 5,250,000 sq ft (487,725 sq m).
Sukhpal Singh Ahluwalia, founder and chairman of ECP, comments: “By 2018 we will have 20 New Generation Hubs strategically located across England supplying over 230 branches three to four times per day. This network is essential for us to continue to provide an unrivalled, same day delivery service to all of our customers.”
Each hub holds in excess of 36,000 lines of stock, covering 97% of all customer demand. From 2017, all of ECP’s New Generation Hubs will be served from its new 1 million sq ft (92,900 sq m) national distribution centre, currently being developed at Birch Coppice, Tamworth.
The Manchester (Moss Lane) branch is open from 8am- 6pm weekdays and 8am-4pm on Saturdays. The new style retail counter – with 29 bays – will ensure a speedy service for ECP’s retail customers.
