Specialist banking services provider, Unity Trust Bank, has extended its lease at Birmingham’s Brindleyplace estate.
The company will remain in its current 9,297 sq ft suite, which represents part of the second floor at Nine Brindleyplace, until 2020.
Unity Trust Bank is a specialist bank for organisations and businesses that aim to create community, social or environmental benefit, providing tailored day-to-day banking and finance to groups including charities, social enterprise, trade unions, housing associations and councils.
Margaret Willis, CEO, Unity Trust Bank, said: “While we considered alternative offices and relocation options around the city, we kept coming back to Brindleyplace. This is a unique environment within Birmingham, offering a clean and safe place that creates a sense of wellbeing amongst our workers.”
Located in the award-winning Brindleyplace estate, which is owned by Hines and Lone Star, and asset managed by Hines UK, Moorfield Group and Hudson Advisors, Nine Brindleyplace benefits from the estate’s secure, managed environment and range of amenities.
Raj Rajput, Hines UK, said: “The decision by Unity Trust Bank to remain at Brindleyplace demonstrates a commitment to the estate and is a testament to the quality and range of services that we can offer to our occupiers.
“Brindleyplace remains an established and popular mixed-use destination and we understand the importance of making best use of our assets to remain an attractive proposition. We are converting space on the ground floor of Three Brindleyplace from offices to leisure use and will soon welcome two new restaurants in the form of CAU and Zizzi. This is alongside an ongoing assessment of the quality of our commercial spaces to ensure that they are fit for purpose and the requirements of contemporary occupiers.”
A popular commercial location, Brindleyplace has just 13,150 sq ft of space remaining in small suites split across Three and Four Brindleyplace, representing the only lettings opportunities available on the estate.
Brindleyplace boasts an extremely diverse mix of commercial tenants, including Deloitte, RBS, Deutsche Bank, Bilfinger GVA and Colliers International. A full range of bars, restaurants and leisure amenities is also available across the estate, including Café Rouge, Carluccio’s, Bannatyne’s Health Club, and Le Monde.
Other occupiers at Nine Brindleyplace include DAC Beachcroft LLP, Free Radio, and Odgers Berndtson.
Cushman & Wakefield acted for Unity Trust Bank, and Colliers International and Bilfinger GVA acted for Hines and Lone Star on the deal.
