Leading corporate law firm, Shulmans LLP, has announced the completion of the purchase for the Roger Bullivant Limited (RB) group of its new 22-acre site at Hearthcote Road in Swadlincote which will become its new UK Headquarters, Walton Park.
The completion will see RB’s relocation from its existing head office in Drakelow near Burton on Trent before the end of the year with production following at a later date. The company has seven other specialist centres across the UK.
Site development plans include increased square footage of the existing office space and the creation of new manufacturing facilities to boost production of its precast concrete and house foundation systems.
Shulmans’ Simon Jackson, a nationally renowned commercial property expert, played an integral part in the process, facilitating in the overall strategy of acquisition and dealing with a variety of complex legal issues in order to effect the successful sale of the site. Working also with Amanda Beresford, Shulmans head of planning.
Jackson, head of Shulmans’ commercial property team said: “The acquisition is significant not only in retaining the site within a commutable distance for the existing workforce, but also in the ability for RB to expand its current operation within South Derbyshire.”
Strongly supported by South Derbyshire County Council, the acquisition secures 400 jobs in the area, further increasing an already strong confidence in Swadlincote as a location well-equipped for large companies with a highly skilled local workforce.
