CBRE has made two senior hires within its building consultancy team in Birmingham.
David Medcraft has joined the firm as a director while Michael Stewart has been appointed as a senior surveyor.
Mr Medcraft previously worked for the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority as programme manager for Sellafield, where he was responsible for capital infrastructure and decommissioning projects up to £400 million.
He is also experienced in managing complex new build and refurbishment construction projects in both the public and private sector, including the £70 million upgrade of the Grade II listed National Theatre in London and overseeing the £120 million development of six new health and community care centres on behalf of Wolverhampton Primary Care Trust.
Mr Stewart has 25 years’ experience in building maintenance, professional work and project based building surveying. He is an expert in building conservation and listed buildings.
Prior to joining CBRE, Mr Stewart worked for Oxford City Council, where he was responsible for the management of the council’s £44 million capital projects programme for its corporate property portfolio.
Three graduate surveyors – Nick Green, Veenam Korpal and Owen Williams – have also joined CBRE’s building consultancy team in Birmingham.
Andy Higgs, senior director and head of CBRE’s building consultancy team, said: “These latest hires are in response to the increased demand for building surveying and project management work we are currently experiencing.
“Bringing in David and Michael, with their collective wealth of experience and industry knowledge, adds further weight to our senior team as we look to grow the business further, while the graduate surveyors ensure we have new talent coming through the ranks.”
