East Anglia’s prime shopping centre, intu Chapelfield in Norwich, is getting even more sparkle with Pandora and Swarovski both set to feature in the 530,000 sq ft shopping centre.
Recent research by international real estate advisor Savills showed jewellery brands were the top consumer demand during the first quarter of 2015. intu Chapelfield already features Beaverbrooks, H Samuel, Fraser Hart and Thomas Sabo focusing on this key customer preference. The 90 shops and restaurants at the centre also include anchor store House of Fraser, H&M, Zara, Apple and a Disney Store.
Rebecca Ryman, regional director of intu, said: “In addition to a 1.1 million catchment, intu Chapelfield benefits from a very high number of day visitors and tourists to the city. Norwich has more tourists than destinations such as York and Bristol. Add to that the large student population, and the appeal for retailers opening at intu Chapelfield becomes clear.”
intu Chapelfield has an annual footfall of 12 million, making it the prime pitch for the region and the main fashion destination for the city of Norwich, which was ranked second in the CACI top 100 UK retail locations. With a broad mix of fashion and lifestyle, the centre attracts major international brands as well as many casual dining choices to increase dwell time, benefiting retailers so their businesses can flourish. Some 55% of customers to intu Chapelfield are ABC1.
The new 2,800 sq ft Pandora shop will be on the upper mall on a 10 year lease, adjacent to Schuh, Hollister, Apple and Monsoon. The Swarovski store, also on the upper mall level, is to open in a 1,000 sq ft unit on a 10 year lease.
Additionally, popular homeware and gifts retailer Tiger has taken 2,800 sq ft on a 10 year lease on the lower ground floor by the main St Stephen’s Arcade entrance adding to the inviting tenant mix at the centre. This is Tiger’s second store in the city, building on existing market demand and bringing further choice to intu customers.
The agents for intu Chapelfield are Lunson Mitchenall and Francis Darrah Chartered Surveyors. Agent for the Pandora store was Stephen Kane & Co with Harper Dennis Hobbs for the Swarovski store. Tiger was represented by Rob Alston Retail.
