Peveril Securities has secured outline planning consent from Gloucester City Council for a second phase of development at Centre Severn, a prestige mixed use development adjacent to Barnwood Fields Business Park on the A40 between Gloucester and Cheltenham.
The scheme, which offers immediate access to junctions 11A and 12 of the M5 motorway, currently offers a fitness centre, a ten pin bowling centre, a hotel and a pub, together with generous parking provision.
Phase 2 will deliver up to 300,000 sq ft of high quality employment and commercial buildings on a 14 acre highly visible site. This may include offices, car dealership/showrooms and trade counters. Peveril Securities will offer design and build packages to suit individual requirements.
The new development will include the introduction of an enlarged site entrance with new traffic light junction on the A40.
Adrian Rowley, partner at property consultancy Alder King which is acting for Peveril with Knight Frank, said: “Securing this planning consent for an extension to the highly successful Centre Severn is excellent news for Gloucestershire. Phase 2 will offer a natural extension to an already flourishing business location and offers future occupiers the opportunity for their staff to enjoy the range of established leisure facilities.
“There is a strong requirement for new highly visible premium locations especially with good links to Cheltenham as stock levels have dropped in recent years whilst demand has risen as the economy improves and we would expect to see strong interest in this new phase.”
