Henryson Foods International, a leading importer and distributor of specialist food items, has relocated from Leominster Business Plaza to Tewkesbury after successfully acquiring the long leasehold interest of new office premises on Tewkesbury Business Park.
The company has purchased Unit D1 The Courtyard, a 1,637 sq ft office building with parking, for £265,000. Property consultants Alder King negotiated the disposal of the property on behalf of learning and development company Linac Ltd following its relocation to Cheltenham.
HFI was originally established in 2000 specialising in egg products and has since grown to incorporate poultry, seafood and cooked meats. The company is now a well-known supplier of key ingredients to manufacturers and caterers throughout the UK and Ireland and employs six people.
The move to owner occupied premises is a logical step in the company’s progression, says Alder King associate John Hawkins.
“For many SMEs, buying their own business premises is an important milestone, offering greater freedom, control and the potential to profit from any upturn in value. There is however a shortage of freehold and long leasehold opportunities available and competition for properties can be strong, particularly in quality locations like Tewkesbury Business Park.”
