London & Cambridge Properties, one of the UK’s leading property companies, is investing £1.5 million into refurbishing its West Midlands headquarters – and has commissioned local companies to undertake the work.
LCP House, on The Pensnett Estate, Kingswinford, is undergoing a major refit and comes after the company has spent over £8.3 million on redevelopment and refurbishment projects across its property portfolio in the last year.
The three-storey property, which dates back to the 1960s, is being re-clad and will also feature a brise soleil, a high-tech exterior shading system that helps to control solar heat. Inside, a major reconfiguration of space will see cellular offices replaced with an open-plan system.
Other works include installation of new windows, improved parking facilities and new front entrance.
LCP is supporting Black Country companies in the refurbishment, having commissioned architects GH Design Ltd and Stanford Construction as the appointed contractor, both of which are based on The Pensnett Estate, to undertake the design and construction work.
Nick Burgess, managing director of LCP, said: “We pride ourselves on providing our tenants with good quality commercial properties and have ploughed millions over the years into our property portfolio.
“We are growing rapidly as a company and we want our head office to be a true reflection of our professionalism and ambition for the future. This major refurbishment will bring the building into the 21st century.”
Work has already begun and it is expected to be completed by Easter 2016.
