St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, has submitted a planning application to Coventry City Council for 137,000 sq ft of employment space at Whitley Business Park.
When planning permission is secured, the new building will be built on seven acres of land available at the popular business park, which is already home to Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and builders merchant Travis Perkins.
Work is due to begin on-site in early 2016 and completed later in the year, bringing yet more jobs to Coventry in 2017.
Earlier this year, St. Modwen sold land at Whitley Business Park to JLR for the expansion of its global headquarters and is currently constructing a 214,000 sq ft, multi-million pound regional distribution centre on behalf of builders merchant Travis Perkins, which has purchased 21 acres and has an option to acquire further expansion land if required.
Whitley Business Park is located on one of the main arterial routes in and out of Coventry city centre and has a significant frontage onto the A45 Coventry Road. It is situated close to the M6, M40 and M1 motorways and both Birmingham and Coventry airports.
Mike Murray, senior development surveyor at St. Modwen, said: “Following our success earlier this year, our plan is to build 137,000 sq ft of employment space at Whitley Business Park. This reflects the site’s track record for attracting prestigious occupiers looking for high quality accommodation, close proximity to both local and wider transport networks, and access to a skilled workforce.”
