Paul Stewart, Deputy Managing Director of Goadsby Commercial comments on the skills shortage in recruiting experienced and capable Valuers, Building Surveyors and Property Managers and the effect this is having on business.
“We have more work available to us and we need more staff to serve it, particularly in Building Consultancy”. Paul feels “The recession always impacts on the numbers of property graduates coming through as the property market is typically hit hard and understandably people shy away from taking property degrees. This leaves a shortage of fresh talent and holds back the growth of businesses in our industry once the recession ends”.
“We are proud of our record of training graduates through to them attaining Chartered surveyor status, but, just wish the pool of applicants was greater than it is”.
