The Chief Executive of Dorset Chamber of Commerce, Ian Girling, has welcomed a brand-new name to the county’s business community following the merger of two of the south’s leading law firms.
Trethowans, which has offices in Southampton and Salisbury, merged with Poole-based Dickinson Manser on October 1 to create a new legal powerhouse. Last week Ian Girling visited the new ‘Trethowans incorporating Dickinson Manser’ office in Parkstone Road, Poole to cut the ribbon on a new era for the duo of legal firms.
The former Dickinson Manser office has been refurbished following the merger, creating a fresh new look that is allied to the company’s new strength in the market and ambitious plans for future growth.
Ian Girling said: “It was an honour to be a part of the first official engagement at the new office. The Boroughs of Poole and Bournemouth continue to play a vital part in Dorset’s growing economy and I have no doubt that the combined power of Trethowans and Dickinson Manser will play a part in that for many, many decades to come.”
The new firm, which will trade under the Trethowans name, boasts 27 partners and over 65 lawyers who combine their expertise to offer clients enhanced legal services in a range of specialisms.
Commercial clients include international and national household brand names, owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs and major regional employers across the UK. The legal teams also work with individuals, such as landowners, local families, property developers and Trustees.
Former Dickinson Manser senior partner Gary Pick, added: “The launch of the newly-refurbished office marks the latest step in our long history as we combine forces with Trethowans to offer an even greater depth of expertise to clients. We have been delighted to welcome new faces to our office over the last month and are sure there will be more to come in 2016 as we embark on our ambitious growth plans.”
Trethowans managing partner Chris Whiteley added: “We are very excited to bring the Trethowans name to Poole, taking our number of offices across the south to three. Supporting local firms and helping them to achieve their own growth ambitions is top of our agenda so we will be working closely with the Chamber of Commerce and business community moving forward.”
