Working on behalf of Freshwater Group, TPS have secured listed building planning consent for the refurbishment of an existing office building located in Leeds City Centre.
Constructed in 1904, Leeming House is a well-known landmark building, which forms part of the famous Leeds Victorian Market Hall. The offices are to be refurbished, regenerating one of the city’s most precious architectural assets.
The 5 storey premises provides four floors of office space (35,000 sq. ft. NIA) arranged over 17 ground floor retail units of 6,400 sq. ft. In terms of architectural importance, the Grade 1 Listed building is placed alongside Harewood House and Castle Howard.
The stone built building wraps around the front of the market hall and has substantial frontage onto Vicar Lane, Kirkgate and George Street. There are 5 different entrances into the market, which cut through the building at ground floor.
The offices are currently vacant and TPS are now working up a comprehensive refurbishment proposal which will see Leeming House re-positioned in the Leeds office market.
TPS Director Mark Newton commented: “Leeming House is a fantastic building and we very much look forward to bringing it back into use. This is an exciting time to be working in this part of Leeds City Centre which is already experiencing improvements brought about by the imminent arrival of the new Victoria Gate scheme.”
