The Midlands office of leading commercial property adviser Bilfinger GVA has announced a new appointment to its Lease Consultancy team.
Sophie Nelson-Shaw joins the company from Holland and Barrett as a Principal Surveyor and will support the team across their extensive portfolio of commercial property clients, covering the retail, industrial and office sectors.
With over 11 years’ industry experience, Sophie has worked with a range of high profile brands and organisations including national multi-service business, Timpson Ltd, international healthcare and pharmaceutical company, Celesio UK and property consultants BNP Paribas Real Estate and Strutt & Parker.
Chris Norcup, Associate in Bilfinger GVA’s Midlands Lease Consultancy team, said: “Following the recent upturn in the market, we have witnessed considerable demand from both landlords and tenants requiring rent review, lease renewal and lease renegotiation advice.
“Sophie’s appointment has come at a key time following a significant increase in new clients and, in particular, growth in the main industrial markets. We have seen rentals on review and renewal being agreed up to £6.00 per sq ft for well located warehouses in the greater Birmingham area. Sophie’s experience will prove invaluable as we look to further expand the team in the coming months.”
