A Cardiff veterinary company has announced it is opening a second surgery as a result of increased demand for its services.
St-David Veterinary Centre, which currently has a surgery in Pentwyn, has opened its second surgery at unit 1 Malvern Drive in Llanishen after signing an extended lease with landlord Mount Earl Estates.
The new surgery will provide extensive services for small animals in Cardiff. The Llanishen surgery has separate cat and dog facilities, ample customer parking and sophisticated digital x-ray and ultrasound equipment.
Commercial agents Herbert R Thomas Commercial (HRT) acted for Mount Earl Estates in agreeing the deal.
To celebrate the opening, St-David’s Veterinary Centre will be holding an official launch event on Sunday 27th Sept from 12pm until 5pm where staff will offer free microchipping for cats and dogs (12:00-14:30).
There will also be free face painting for children and competitions at the event.
One of the centre’s directors, Menna Morgan, said: “Many of our customers live in the Llanishen area so opening the new surgery in Llanishen was an obvious choice.
“Since we opened in Pentwyn in 1997 we have built a strong reputation for delivering a professional and caring service and we are very grateful to all of our customers for all of their loyal support.
“Now, with the new surgery, we will be offering late appointments during the week, a Saturday surgery and an emergency surgery at the Pentwyn location on Sunday’s. All of our vets and nurses have achieved additional qualifications in medicine, surgery, ophthalmology and behaviour and are well equipped to provide an excellent service to Cardiff’s loved pet population.
“We have worked tirelessly and invested heavily in the company over the years and we are excited for the future. We hope to get a mix of both current and new clients during our open day.”
John Jones of HRT Commercial, said: “We’re pleased we were able to secure a favourable deal for both Mount Earl Estates and St-David’s Veterinary Centre. The unit is the perfect size and location for their new requirements.
“It is always great to see Welsh businesses thriving and continuing to expand and it is a pleasure to be a part of the process. We wish them the best of luck going forward.”
Julian Golunski of Mount Earl Estates, said: “We’re extremely pleased to have agreed a long term let with St-David Veterinary Centre and helped them expand their offering in Cardiff. After seeing the new clinic following its refurbishment, we are confident that St-David Veterinary Centre will have a long future in Llanishen.”
“We’d like to thank the team at HRT Commercial for their expertise and advice in securing and agreeing the lease.”
