Work on the new multi-million pound Gateway Retail Park in Cannock has been completed.
The development, located on the Island site in Cannock, adjacent to the M6 Toll Road, is one of the largest out-of-town retail schemes to be built in the Midlands in the last few years.
Gateway Retail Park, which comprises 36,542 sq ft of retail and fast food units, is fully let to a number of high profile occupiers including TK Maxx, Sofaworks, Burger King and Costa Coffee.
The development is owned by Birmingham-based property company Hortons’ Estate and will be retained as a key investment within its property portfolio.
Trebor Developments was development partner with Hortons’. The construction was undertaken by Clugston Construction.
Bob Tattrie, managing partner of Trebor Developments, said: “We are delighted with Cannock Gateway Retail Park and to have worked closely with such prestigious tenants for this outstanding retail development.
“We are continuing to deliver prestigious high quality developments across the region and the Cannock Gateway Retail Park scheme has regenerated a site which has remained undeveloped for more than 30 years. The project has involved complex highway and site remediation works in order to make it deliverable, but despite those complexities has been delivered on time and budget to the delight of all of our tenants.”
Richard Norgrove, property director at Hortons’ Estate, said: “After years of planning it is fantastic to finally see the project come to fruition. Together with our development partner, Trebor Developments, we have delivered a new retail and leisure offer for the residents of Cannock that will also help boost the local economy and provide employment opportunities.”
