Private equity real estate investor Henley Investments has added to its experienced senior management team with the appointment of Stuart Savidge as Chief Financial Officer.
Previously Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at CBRE Global Investors, Stuart has also held positions at Prestbury, JP Morgan, Apollo and Morgan Stanley. His appointment ensures that Andy Brandon, currently CFO at Henley, will now assume the role of Chief Investment Officer, leading Henley’s very active deal transaction processes.
Established in 2006, Henley has doubled in size every year and is expected to do the same again in 2015. The company currently has around £600 million assets under management (as of June 2015) and has created over 60 SPV Funds since its inception, exiting 15 with an average performance of 55.2% deal IRR.
Stuart joins the team, following another recent milestone for the firm, as Henley entered the US real estate market for the first time, with a $100 million investment in WaterWalk, the USA’s first serviced apartment brand. The company has also completed acquisitions in Germany and Holland this year, alongside confirming a new joint venture partnership with experienced placemaking and infrastructure firm Camland Projects in the UK.
Ian Rickwood, CEO of Henley, said:
“Stuart has a first class background in some of the biggest Private Equity Real Estate businesses in the world and will bring a wealth of experience to Henley. Not only will he ably complement our existing strengths but we are also confident that Stuart will help drive our current ambitions to rapidly grow Henley’s assets under management, whilst continuing to provide exemplary service to existing investors. With our recent commitment to invest $100 million in WaterWalk and an aim to increase our investment in the USA to $400 million in the next three years, Stuart’s appointment comes at an important and highly exciting time in the Henley story.”
Commenting on his appointment, Stuart Savidge adds:
“Henley is an impressive, highly successful investment manager, with clear plans for future growth and attracting new business, both in the UK and abroad. The firm’s standout reputation, coupled with its outstanding track record and highly entrepreneurial spirit, made the offer of joining Henley an immensely attractive one. I am greatly looking forward to this new challenge and the unique opportunities that lie ahead at Henley.”
