Acting on behalf of their clients Hazel 4D, Cushman & Wakefield has secured the sale of Hazel House on Armley Road in Leeds which suffered extensive fire damage in a large fire in April 2014.
The blaze resulted in the loss of over 50,000 sq ft of warehousing facilities at the property. Hazel 4D had to relocate to new office premises and outsource their logistics operations to a third party logistics company.
The property, comprising circa 13,800 sq ft on a site area of just over 2 acres, has been purchased by KD Bro’s who will relocate the majority of their operations from their existing facility on Hope Road opposite Christopher Pratt’s Furniture store.
The sale is the second property on Armley Road that Cushman & Wakefield has sold on behalf of Hazel 4D within recent months, following the sale of the former John Peter’s unit to CW Plant Hire.
Scott Morrison, Senior Surveyor in the Industrial and Logistics team at Cushman & Wakefield commented: “It is great to see such a positive result for our client given the impact the fire had on the property and their business. We knew the site would be popular given the fantastic location within close proximity to the city centre and the current lack of industrial sites with such low building to site ratios in strategic locations in Leeds. We knew the property would suit a number of occupiers in the market as well as potential for redevelopment and we generated significant interest in the property which led to achieving a fantastic level on behalf of our client”
Garth Christie, owner of Hazel 4D said: “We have really enjoyed working with Cushman & Wakefield who have conducted the sale of both our properties on Armley Road with professionalism and skill.”
Karl Singh from KD Bro’s added: “The site offers a fantastic opportunity to maintain and expand our vehicle recovery business which has been established since 1971.“
