Mather Jamie has secured new premises in a popular shopping area of Loughborough for Leicestershire’s leading charity working with those with sight loss.
Vista, which provides support and services to almost 6,000 children and adults in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, is opening a charity shop on 8 Cattle Market in Loughborough on Wednesday 16th September, adding to its growing number of stores.
Sally Thomas, Retail Operations Manager for Vista, said: “We wanted to expand into Loughborough town centre, which has a great reputation as a place to go shopping, and our new store is in a great location next to the Town Hall and cinema.
The new Loughborough store will employ a manager and various volunteers, and will sell high quality donated goods to raise money for the charity, which has another recently opened charity shop in Oakham.
Alex Reid of Mather Jamie comments: “It is encouraging to see another new shop opening its doors in Loughborough and we are pleased to welcome Vista as the new tenant.”
“Cattle Market is a pedestrian street within the town centre conservation area, a popular shopping destination within Loughborough due to its high number of independent shops.”
The new shop also sells a selection of assistive technology for people with sight loss, such as large button telephones and talking clocks.
Sally continues: “As well as our assistive technology for those with sight loss, we will be selling clothing, books and other items, and will be providing volunteer opportunities for Ebay volunteers, treasure hunters, visual merchandisers and creative volunteers to add value to stock by upcycling.”
Vista helps enable people to regain their independence after losing their sight, whether in residential care, at home, in hospital or the local community, and is committed to providing the very best care.
