AXA Insurance is first in at Leeds’ exciting new office development, 21 Queen Street. The insurance business has taken the whole of the top floor on a ten-year lease.
The company’s staff will occupy the 6,900 square foot fifth floor which features full height glazing, dramatic external lighting and commanding views across the city centre.
Alex Hailey, associate director at joint letting agent CBRE, said: “AXA is a great name to welcome to 21 Queen Street, and is testament to the quality of the redevelopment. The Grade ‘A’ specification and excellent green credentials were instrumental in AXA choosing to relocate to 21 Queen Street”
The developer, Formal Investments, and joint agents Jones Lang LaSalle and CBRE are confident that further tenants will soon be joining AXA in this visually stunning building in Leeds’ central business district.
Richard Thornton, director at joint letting agent Jones Lang LaSalle, said: “We are currently negotiating with other interested parties and hope to announce further deals in the near future.”
Formal Investments director, Nicholas King said: “We are very pleased our vision for 21 Queen Street is now being realised. We made a significant investment in the building and this has been rewarded by a company of AXA Insurance’s calibre choosing to relocate here.”
The building has been transformed by the addition of two new floors along with full height glazing to the front and rear of the reworked lower floors. With AXA Insurance on the fifth floor, 30,000 sq ft of Grade ‘A’ office space is available on five flexible floor plates below.
