Paul Stewart, Deputy Managing Director of Goadsby Commercial, is excited by the new Bournemouth developments and expects them to bring new interest and investment to the town.
“The cinema & leisure scheme being built on the old bus station site/ NCP car park in Exeter Road and the imminent opening of Bournemouth’s latest 4 star hotel in Terrace Road are sure to draw more people to that part of town.
Whilst this could lead to a shift in retail patterns away from the traditional Commercial and Old Christchurch Roads, I suspect prime areas in and around The Square will become more visible to visitors of the leisure scheme in particular and this will mean demand for retail space increasing.
This will then have a knock on effect to demand for the shops located up the two hills of Bournemouth. With locations further away from The Square becoming affordable for independent retailers wanting high footfall from car parking. Let’s face it central car parking is not popular for any town centre, leaving shoppers to still need to walk passed the shops of Commercial and Old Christchurch Road hills.
Our dedicated Retail Agency Department is looking forward to hearing from retailers looking to take space in the Town Centre”
