Independent oil distribution company Oil 4 Wales has announced it will be opening a new depot in Brecon.
The company, which supplies a range of fuel services to homes, businesses, commercial premises, agricultural and retail customers, will be opening a new 300,000 litre depot on September 1st.
The depot in Three Cocks has been created to expand the company’s services in mid Wales and improve efficiency for customers as it will now enable the company to make faster and increased deliveries.
It is the sixth depot for the family run company, which also has a presence in Blaenau Ffestiniog, Milford Haven, Felinfach, Carmarthen and Cardiff, and is the latest move in the company’s aim to become the national oil brand of Wales.
Since it was founded by Colin Owens in 2010, Oil 4 Wales has been well supported by those keen to see the success of a truly independent Welsh oil brand. It now has supply contracts with over 30 petrol stations across the country and supplies over 38,000 customers in Wales.
It is also the only Welsh oil distributor to have its fuel accredited by the FPS (Federation of Petroleum Suppliers) giving customers’ peace of mind that what it is supplying is the best in the market, having been tested for its cleanliness.
Colin Owens, managing director of Oil 4 Wales, said: “We are delighted to be in a position to open our sixth depot. When we established Oil 4 Wales, it was always our intention to create a truly independent oil brand that focused on providing a good deal to the communities of Wales.
“As we continue to grow our presence across Wales, our buying power and truly Welsh focus means that the local community will get a much fairer pricing system than national brands. We want to be honest on pricing and have a totally different pricing philosophy to our competitors.
“By having depots in West, South, North and now mid Wales, we are well on our way to completing our jigsaw of having coverage across the whole of Wales.”
In order to celebrate the opening, Oil 4 Wales will be hosting a rugby signing session with its brand ambassadors which include Neil Jenkins, Ken Owens, Jonathan Davies, Ryan Jones, Rhys Preistland, Dan Biggar, Dan Lydiate and Scott Quinnell at Talgarth rugby club later this year.
Colin continued: “Our motto is ‘working with the community for the community’ and we always try to find ways to show the community is at the heart of our operations, which is why we’re looking forward to having a rugby signing day with our brand ambassadors at Talgarth rugby club later this year.
“We’ve been overwhelmed by the support that we have already received in Three Cocks, as people are already ringing us to place orders and we’re excited to open the depot doors on the 1st September.”
Earlier this year, Oil 4 Wales closed in on its £100m turnover milestone posting a turnover of £97.6m in its latest accounts, up from £86.7m the previous year.
It was also one of 18 Welsh companies included in the London Stock Exchange’s 1,000 Companies to Inspire Britain.
