A round of promotions have been announced at the South Coast office of Smith & Williamson, the accountancy and investment management group.
Michael Banton, Kirsty Curthoys and Matt Crowe have moved on up at the Southampton office, where more than 50 people are employed.
Michael, from Southampton, is now an administrator in the restructuring and recovery services team.
He has been with the firm for two and a half years, working on cases in the motor trade, marine sector and other industries.
Kirsty, from Warsash, has been made assistant manager in the assurance and business services team.
Having joined Smith & Williamson four and a half years ago, Kirsty provides advice to tech companies, housing providers and manufacturers.
Meanwhile in the business tax team, Matt Crowe, from Bishop’s Waltham, has been promoted to assistant manager.
In a separate development, four chartered accountants at the firm, including Kirsty, were named among the region’s best in their respective disciplines.
Exam entrants Nick Yates, Rebecca Powderham, Oliver Willson and Kirsty came out top in their respective fields.
Kirsty scored top for business reporting, Nick for corporate reporting, Oliver for financial management and Rebecca was joint top for business strategy.
The names of professional stage winners were announced at the Southern Chartered Accountant Student Society ball, attended by students from Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Dorset and the Salisbury district of Wiltshire.
