An expanding firm of chartered surveyors in Hampshire has recruited a property expert with more than 25 years of experience.
Portsmouth-based McAndrew Martin has welcomed Steve Funnell as its 25 member of staff as it steps up its recruitment drive to meet rising demand for its services.
Steve, who has run his own estate agency and holds energy assessment qualifications, has joined the Fairway Business Centre-based firm to bolster its chartered surveying department.
Ian Lee, a director at McAndrew Martin, said: “Steve is a highly experienced and well known property professional who we are sure will be a great asset to the firm.
“He joins us as we continue to expand and seek to appoint more staff to meet increased demand for our surveys and property-related services.”
Steve, 53, of Waterlooville, has 27 years of experience in the property world. He was a regional manager at the Countrywide group, started his own estate agency Funnell & Co in 2003, and holds Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) and Commercial Energy Assessor (NDEA) qualifications.
He has recently started the SAVA Diploma in Residential Surveying and Valuation, and will take the next step in his career to become a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
Steve said: “I don’t believe in stopping and with my experience, a move into chartered surveying was the obvious next step.
“McAndrew Martin is a well-known and rapidly growing firm with a great reputation. I’m looking forward to advancing my career with the company and contributing to its future success.”
McAndrew Martin is expanding its ranks with up to 10 new staff after a record-breaking year.
As well as apprentices, it is also seeking chartered surveyors and property asset data taggers to carry out inventories at properties and provide property services support.
McAndrew Martin also includes architectural design, mechanical and electrical engineering, conservation, land and property development and design among its services.
The company covers Portsmouth, Hampshire, London and the South East. It expanded in 2014 with takeovers of Fareham-based Brunel Design Group and Cosham-based Veness Chartered Surveyors.
