A Nottinghamshire church will undergo a dramatic transformation into a mixed-use development, following a deal brokered by commercial property specialists at NG Chartered Surveyors.
NG acted for clients The New Horizon Church in Hilltop, Eastwood, which sold the building to a trio of private investors who now have big plans to develop the 4,054 sq ft building into flat and retail units.
NG has also been retained by the new owners to market the new development.
During 2008, Andy and Becky Dilnot, a young couple from Nottingham, became the new resident ministers at a local Church within the Eastwood, Nottingham area. After a short period of time, the Church grew in numbers, with many new young families attending each week.
This expansion led the Church to move from its old building to a larger rented theatre in the area for its Sunday services.
Andy Dilnot, senior pastor at New Horizon Church takes up the story:
“We have a vision of building a large Church complex that will incorporate a 500 seater auditorium, a community centre, conference centre, micro-business centre and coffee house for the purpose of serving the community and making a positive change across the Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and surrounding region. We came to the decision to put the old Church building on the market with NG Surveyors, who recently successfully marketed and saw to completion the sale of the building.”
Jonathon Seddon, director at NG Chartered Surveyors, said: “It’s been great to be involved in this deal, as it represents a success story for everyone involved.
“Our clients at the New Horizon Church have big plans to build a new venue called Horizon City, and we wish them all the best in the future.”
“We’re also delighted to be retained by the new owners of the church in Hilltop, as they embark on their ambitious venture to turn the building into a real asset for the local community.
“We’ll be using all our local market knowledge to ensure that we get them the right occupiers at the right time. We’re looking forward to the challenge.”
Thomas Sotiros, one of the three investors, said: “We’re planning two apartments both with two bedrooms, and two retail units; One at 2,000 sq ft, the other 1,000 sq ft. The larger unit will have A5 use for restaurant.
“We’re pleased to retain NG to market our development, and they were extremely helpful during the acquisition.”
Andy added: “During the sale process NG Surveyors and their team showed professionalism in their advice, and acted with perseverance and competency which was a great help to us.”
