Rob Vivian, entrepreneur and Managing Director of telecoms specialists Pure Comms, recently picked up an award at The South West 42 under 42 Awards.
The awards, took place on the July 7 at the Marriot City Centre in Bristol and honour the region’s innovative young entrepreneurs who are driving business across the area.
Rob was crowned ‘Entrepreneur of the Year’, with the judges citing Pure Comms’ significant growth through innovation, strong commercial performance, and unique approach to doing business as major factors in the decision.
Rob set up Pure Comms in 2009, having previously worked for a number of other telecoms businesses. He identified a gap in the market for a telecoms provider that built bespoke telecoms packages around the client and their needs.
Rob comments: “In an industry that was constantly slashing prices, and therefore quality, I wanted to set-up a business that was different – one offering real value, rather than a one size fits all package.
“It was a risk but I’m glad to say it’s still paying off. Pure Comms has achieved massive year on year growth – bringing on board major new clients, employing more staff and opening additional offices. And I’m delighted this has been recognised at the 42 under 42 awards.”
Since its establishment Pure Comms has quickly become one of the leading telecoms providers in the region, employing fourteen staff across two offices, one just outside of Bristol and another in St Austell Cornwall.
Pure Comms work with a number of high-profile clients including Bristol Airport, BWOC, auctioneers Bonhams, Opus, Computerworld and Redrock Consulting
Pure Comms also recently struck a major deal with retail giant the Co-Operative Group to provide the telecoms infrastructure to power promotional videos in 400 Co-Operative stores across the UK.
“Going forward we plan to open new offices, employ more staff, and keep delivering the very best telecoms and digital solutions for businesses throughout Bristol and the South West,” Rob concluded.
