Press Shop Machine Operator, Garry Fowler, has been announced as the top temp of the quarter for global company, TE Connectivity and their Bideford site recruitment partner, Concept Staffing.
Garry, 37 from Appledore, picked up the title after being placed with TE Connectivity by leading West Country recruitment company Concept Staffing in February 2010. In his role Garry operates the press machinery as well as assisting with new starters in the area. He often takes responsibility for work experience placements and teaches the required skills to work in the press industry. It was this ability to supervise and train students along with his excellent eye for detail that resulted in his nomination for the top accolade.
TE Connectivity, provider of engineered electronic components, was established more than 50 years ago and serves in excess of 150 countries worldwide. Its Bideford site currently employs 233 permanent staff, and Concept, TE’s sole supplier, employs and supplies a further 92 temporary workers for them.
Key Account Manager at Concept, Fiona Brandi, said: “Throughout the seven years of working with TE Connectivity we have built up a strong relationship. The whole purpose of the “Employee of the Quarter” is to reward the people we place with TE and to ensure the standard of their work is maintained.”
Garry beat off competition from fellow TE colleagues Polina Glusko who works in the Reeling Room and Plating Shop worker Gavin Hilling, both of whom were nominated for their high production figures and enthusiasm.
John Little, Terminal Production Supervisor for TE Connectivity, said: “We are always delighted with the standard of temps that Concept supply us with. The level of the nominations this quarter is proof of this.
“It is a pleasure working with Garry. The work he produces is of exceptionally high standards of quality. He is supportive of other work colleagues, particularly with the students he takes under his wing as he goes out of his way to ensure they get the very best value from the time they spend with him. He is always helpful, patient, enthusiastic and generous with his time and clearly warrants this recognition as Temporary “Employee of the Quarter.”
Concept Staffing has branches across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Wiltshire, and is the South West’s leading provider of permanent and temporary recruitment.
Together as part of the Acorn Group, which last week acquired independently owned Draig Personnel, the company finds jobs for up to 5000 temps with more than 850 different clients each week.
