Leading property adviser Bilfinger GVA has been appointed to provide property management services at the 199,008 sq ft Riverlights mixed-use scheme in Derby.
Completed in 2010, the Derby Riverlights scheme is a modern gateway development, which has recently been purchased by MREF III Derby Riverlights Ltd (Moorfield), with five retail and leisure units on the ground floor ranging from 3,600 to over 8,000 sq ft.
Moorfield will rejuvenate the building by undertaking a full refurbishment of the façade and by providing extensive landscaping services.
Sam Lawrence, Director at Bilfinger GVA, said: “Riverlights is a fantastic scheme which is prominently positioned at the heart of Derby. Moorfield will be looking for retail occupiers for the vacant ground floor units moving forward, which provides an exciting investment opportunity for prospective vendors.
“We are very much looking forward to working closely with Moorfield, the contractors and occupiers during this busy and exciting period to mark this new chapter.”
Located on the Eastern edge of Derby city centre at the junction of Morledge and The Cock Pitt, Riverlights comprises two hotels, a casino, four restaurant units, a convenience store and Derby City’s bus station which serves 12 million people every year.
Nic Lowry, from the Moorfield Group, said: “Riverlights presents an attractive offer for occupiers in the retail and leisure industries, with its location on the edge of the River Derwent coupled with an unrivalled connectivity that brings over 2 million tourists to the site every year.
“With continued on-going development work, we are confident that Bilfinger GVA has the skills and experience necessary to facilitate the smooth running of this site.”
Existing occupiers include Holiday Inn, Genting Casinos and Hampton by Hilton.
