An expanding engineering firm pioneering data analysis systems has bought new offices near Salisbury through Myddelton & Major.
Avenca, which has clients worldwide, has taken The Barn office conversion in an attractive rural location on Old Road, Alderbury.
Myddelton & Major successfully negotiated the sale of the 1,342 sq ft (125 sq m) premises on an asking price of £180,000.
Dean Speer, a partner at Myddelton & Major, said: “This was a unique opportunity to acquire a converted barn in an attractive rural setting, close to the city centre.
“As an innovative local company with clients worldwide, it is encouraging to see Avenca successfully expanding into new premises, creating more local jobs and benefiting the local economy.
“These offices were perfect for their needs with two-storey office accommodation and parking in a quiet and accessible location close to Salisbury’s city centre.”
The building was previously home for 15 years to Andante Travels and saw what started as a small niche travel business more than double in size and develop into one of the largest tour operators specialising in the ancient world.
Avenca, founded in 2001, provides systems and services for the analysis of data from recorder systems for commercial, governmental, and military customers worldwide.
It serves such sectors as aerospace, marine, rail, land vehicle, and power generation.
The company’s software drills into information hidden in raw data with bespoke analysis services tailored to suit customer needs.
Myddelton & Major was named the most active agency in Wiltshire in 2014 for the third year running by Estates Gazette, the weekly and online ‘bible’ of the UK commercial property industry.
