As Wessex Cancer Trust continues to expand its walk in support centres across the south coast, it is to relocate his head office from central Southampton to Chandler’s Ford and combine it with a new Cancer Support Centre.
Earlier in the year commercial property consultant Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell was tasked with finding new premises for Wessex Cancer Trust. In the last few months, shop sites in Cosham and Waterlooville have both been secured and the Cosham site includes a new walk-in Cancer Support Centre to offer a host of free services and support for people living with or affected by any type of cancer.
The latest transaction sees Wessex Cancer Trust take a 10 year lease as it moves its HQ to modern first floor offices on Winchester Road that were being marketed by Keygrove Chartered Surveyors. The offices are close to the town’s main shopping area and well positioned for the South’s motorway network and rail links. The location will also provide another new Cancer Support Centre.
Cait Allen, chief executive of Wessex Cancer Trust, said: “Moving our main office to much larger premises in Chandler’s Ford which will also accommodate a new Support Centre is a real milestone for Wessex Cancer Trust. Having recently opened our new Cancer Support Centre in Cosham, we are continuing to expand our patient services across Hampshire and into Dorset and Wiltshire. We are looking forward to further new sites opening in the next 12 months in Salisbury and Bournemouth to help children and families living with cancer.”
Stuart Mitchell, Director of Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell who acted on behalf of Wessex Cancer Trust, commented: “We are delighted to have been able to secure the new HQ premises and Support Centre for Wessex Cancer Trust. As the charity continues to grow and expand its much needed services across the region, we hope to assist them again in the future.”
Kegrove Chartered Surveyors Director Andrew Archibald who advised the landlord added: “This is a great location which offers Wessex Cancer Trust much greater space than its previous offices with good parking and excellent transport links to other parts of the region it operates in.”
