The Director of a soon to be built commercial office space has said that in June she received a record number of enquiries for space at the site.
Gemma Day, 30, is Director of Weston Gateway Business Park (WGBP) – a multi-purpose business location at Junction 21 Enterprise Area in Weston-super-Mare.
Enterprise House, which is a 26,000 sq ft commercial office build that offers suites from 2,500 sq ft in size for businesses, is going to be built at the site; and Gemma says enquiries are flooding in.
She comments: “June was a record month for enquiries for space at Enterprise House, with 48 qualified requests in total. This was up 20 per cent on May. We are fielding calls from a wide variety of sectors but financial services just edges it, in terms of the majority.
“It’s also pleasing to see interest coming from Bristol and South Somerset; as well as ambitious and expanding firms in North Somerset.”
Enterprise House is being built by Midas and is scheduled to be completed by the summer of 2016.
Gemma recently came on record saying that the cocktail of rising rents, residents parking and lack of supply will eventually drive some firms out of Bristol; and on to sites like hers.
“We’re offering £16.50 per sq ft against an average of £25 plus in Bristol; plus we are offering excellent transport links; free parking and world class facilities. It’s only a matter of time before we see a big name re-locate,” she says.
At Enterprise House occupiers will have the opportunity to plan the layout of the interior and the building will be constructed to a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’.
The new offices will join Knightstone Housing and Greene King who are currently also at Weston Gateway Business Park; and several other new occupiers, including major brand names, are likely to be announced in the coming weeks.
Avon and Somerset Police also recently struck a deal to move its new response unit to the site.
