A leading commercial property agency in the West Midlands has landed two industry experts in key roles.
SP+M, which has offices in Coventry and Birmingham has appointed Roger Stanway, a Chartered Valuation Surveyor and Registered Valuer.
Roger spent almost 30 years working for the Valuation Office Agency (VOA) which is an executive agency of HM Revenue & Customs.
He was also Head of Valuation Services at DTZ in Eastern Europe which saw him working with all of the main European banks and several global investment companies and funds.
Roger’s most recent role was with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) within the Professional Groups and Forums team where he was responsible for shaping policy and best practice in the valuation and commercial property sectors.
He also worked within the RICS regulation department to develop and implement the worldwide Valuer Registration Scheme.
SP+M has also appointed Stephen Dallimore BSc MRICS as a Commercial Valuation Surveyor.
Stephen is a Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer with more than 25 years’ experience in commercial property. He has spent 13 years in private practice as an expert adviser to external clients as well 14 years as an in-house property professional – principally for national high street retailers including Boots and Holland & Barrett.
Further to that, he has expertise in providing professional advice to landlords and tenants of all types of commercial premises as well as experience in preparing expert’s reports for court in connection with lease renewal proceedings.
Jon Moore, director at SP+M, said: “The lack of valuers is a real industry issue so to have attracted professionals of Roger’s and Stephen’s experience is fantastic news.
“Roger knows commercial property inside out – he has developed much of the industry policy around valuations – and is a great addition to our team. Stephen has dealt with all types of property from shops and retail warehouses to industrial and offices and is another asset for the team.”
Roger said: “I am delighted to have made this move to SP+M and I am looking forward to bringing the experience and knowledge I have built-up over many years to the team.
“The market continues to improve and I am anticipating a very busy time.”
Stephen added: “I am joining the company at a time when it has the potential to grow and offer a range of further services to clients.
“I am looking forward to being part of that and bringing my knowledge in areas such as arbitrations and independent experts’ determinations in connection with rent reviews.”
