Leading recruitment and training company Acorn has made two key appointments to further bolster their plans for expansion across the North West and North Wales.
Acorn has appointed Jonathan Lord as a Business Development Manager, who will cover North West and North Wales, whilst Mark Astbury has been promoted within the company from a Senior Recruitment Consultant in Crewe, to Stoke’s Branch Manager.
Prior to his new role, Jonathan spent over four years based in Manchester working as a Business Development Executive. He will be responsible for sourcing new business streams whilst building long-term working relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
Speaking about his appointment, he said: “My goal is to build on the already strong reputation that Acorn has and to push that message out to new users in the areas I’m focusing on. Alongside the Regional Manager for the North West, I’m looking at identifying areas of growth and sector development, I’ll be working hard within the Manufacturing, Technical & Engineering, Warehousing and Customer Service / Office Support sectors to cement our strategies and ensure that we continue to be a premier agency. I do sense that great things are set to happen.”
Mark Astbury has over 15 years of experience within the recruitment industry in the Cheshire and Staffordshire areas, four of these years have been with Acorn.
Mark will manage Acorn’s Stoke Branch and will be responsible for the development of the office, with a specific focus on supplying drivers into local logistical businesses.
Speaking about his promotion, Mark said: “I’m looking forward to this new opportunity with Acorn. The Stoke Branch is already exceptionally well known for recruiting within the Driving sector; however, it’s exciting for us to showcase our knowledge in many other sectors such as the Production and Industrial sector.
“I am looking forward to use the market knowledge and expertise I gained at the Crew Branch to further develop Acorn’s presence in Stoke.”
Christian Ash, Acorn’s Regional Manager (North West) said: “We are very excited to welcome Jonathan to Acorn and proud to develop Mark’s career even further in line with our objectives and future expansion plans. They both bring exceptional experience to the company that will deliver and exceed our clients and candidates expectations.
Christian added: “Jonathan and Mark are working for Acorn at a very exciting time as we are looking to expand our network further across the North West region.”
